Since the regression equations link together the energy and information processes, we are entitled to speak about a certain unified energy-information state of the brain. Correlation dependence occurs between the parameters of the SGP and SCP, registered not only in the same, but also in different areas, which indicates the influence of the general functional state on information and energy processes in various brain systems. The regression equations in which the UPP in a certain area is related to the inter-hemispheric characteristics of the SGP indicate that a set of intercentral relations corresponds to this energy state, which includes the activities of both hemispheres.
It is noteworthy that the SCP parameters are related to the amplitude-time characteristics of the late components of the VIZ, reflecting the functional activity of nonspecific polysynaptic reticulolimbico-cortical systems, on which the general regulation of brain energy metabolism primarily depends.
The structures responsible for the general regulation of brain energy metabolism are the hypothalamic-pituitary system, the stem reticular formation, etc., which are activated during stress and changes in wakefulness (see section 6.6 “Changes in cerebral energy metabolism under stress”). In addition, the activation of these formations rebuilds all the work of the brain, both hemispheres involved in this activity in different ways (TA Dobrokhotova, NN Bragina, 1977).
